Comfort and Care
Our daughter has Systemic Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and has been battleing it for the past 3 years. Recently she has had a bad flare and has been accumelating many complications from the meds. and the disease itself. She is only 14. She recently was admitted to Riley Childrens hospital to have some testing done and ended up in there for 6days do to more complications. We live an hour and a half away so traveling back and forth was not an option. I stayed with her while my husband stayed home with our other two girls. We are very limited on finances and did not have enough for me to be going down to the cafetiria or McDonalds for my meals. The nurses guided me to the Ronald McDonald house in the hospital. When I went down there I was comforted by the surroundings and care given to familys like ours. With out that I probably would not have ate much during this stay. I can't express enough how much it helped. Not just food but access to showers and rest. What a wonderful thing that the Rondald MdDonald house is. Thanks Sooo much!
