Serve on a committee or board of your local RMHC Chapter
RMHC is able to respond directly to local needs through its deep relationships within communities. Countless volunteers worldwide lend their time, expertise and insight by serving on RMHC boards, committees and task forces.
Throughout Australia, medical professionals, business leaders and members of the community serve as ambassadors, acting as a liaison between RMHC Chapter and the community. And, in Southwest Florida, a diverse team of volunteers helped launch and guide the area's first Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program. Tom Schneider, a retired accountant, was the Advisory Council's first chairperson. He performed the initial needs assessment, wrote grants, created the budget, and connected the program with influential donors and opinion leaders. "We attribute the success of our Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to the active involvement and guidance of volunteers like Tom," says Debra Newman, executive director, RMHC of Southwest Florida.
If you'd like to donate your time and expertise to RMHC, please contact your local RMHC Chapter or search VolunteerMatch to sign up for volunteer opportunities in your area.

Hello,
I would like to say that I was heavily affected by the Ronald McDonald House program in Springfield, MA. My cousin’s son was living there due to his cancer. I was able to see the program and enjoyed that it provided a safe environment for my family members who were in dire need. I was very disappointed when the time came close to my cousin leaving though. I spoke to the House Manager named Enix in Springfield, MA who was very unprofessional, rude, interrupted me as I spoke and hung up the phone on me. All I was asking was for a 2 to 4 day extension of the discharge date so that myself and the rest of the family members could have enough time to plan for their discharge. We were told a definite “NO!” and never spoken to about an extension or other options. I called the complaint line and now I am following up with this email. At the beginning of treatment I was inspired to donate to Ronald McDonald House. I did not because I donated to the Haitian fund but Ronald McDonald was definitely on my list. At this point I do not know what to do, and I will not let one disgruntled employee make me change my decision. I do however want to know how this organization works and how it will handle this complaint before I make my decision. Can anyone please get back to me? I thank you in advance for your time.

I worked with the Friends of the Jimmy Fund to help gather assistance from the various sports teams, builders, and other people to help build Ronald McDonald House in Boston, Ma. I have worked on many charitable committees, but this was the most pleasurable and interesting project. We all felt great joy when it was completed.
Our group disbanded. I was wondering if there is another such broup working with the Boston house.21/01/2010 3:59pm

thanks to the RMH in Denver, I was able to have the lung surgery needed. I not only completed my senior year of high school, but graduated from college, and not serving as a Rotary Ambassador in New Zealand. Upon returning to the US in January 2010 I hope to repay my gratitude by voluntering at a RMH near by.
