Chicago Marathon
Get Ready to Run for Team RMHC!
Registration Opens February 1, 2010
Interested in running the Bank of American Chicago Marathon on October 10, 2010? Why not run it for Team RMHC?
There are lots of benefits to running a marathon, but there are some extra special benefits to running for Team RMHC. Besides running for a cause that's larger than yourself - that is, the opportunity to directly help RMHC improve the health and well being of children through their core programs - RMHC provides a great support system for you, as a runner:
- You are invited to a kick-off luncheon in Oak Brook, IL to start the training season in May, 2010. You will also get to listen to some words of wisdom and inspiration from Carey Pinkowski, Bank of America Chicago Marathon Executive Race Director, who will be the guest speaker.
- You have access to discounted marathon training available through Chicago Endurance Sports (CES), our official training partner.
- We will send you weekly training tips provided by CES.
- We will issue you a Team RMHC Nike technical running shirt.
- You are invited to a hearty pasta dinner the evening before the Chicago Marathon.
- You have access to online fundraising support with your own customized web page via active.com.
- RMHC will host a VIP gear check and hospitality tent in Charity Village on race day for our runners.
- Roundtrip airfare and four days/three nights hotel stay in Paris, France for two people, and race entry to the Marathon de Paris, in April 2011 for the top Team RMHC fundraiser (does not include company matching gifts).
If you're ready to run for Team RMHC
NOTE: Team RMHC participants are asked to make a $1,000 minimum fundraising commitment. Once registration for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon closes, "charity entries" will be available through RMHC for a limited time. For these "charity entries" the $1,000 fundraising commitment is a required minimum.
Thank you to the 2009 Team RMHC runners!
In 2009, a team of 85 Charity Runners took part in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and ran 26.2 miles for RMHC. The team's training and hard work paid off as they braved cold weather to finish the race and clock in at personal best times. Inspired by the children and families that RMHC serves, the runners raised a total of $170,000 to support our programming. Take a look at some of the images of the team on race day.
You can continue to show your support for a RMHC runner by visiting this site and making a donation today!
“With the support of my sister and [RMHC], my nephew is now a happy and healthy 8 year old. For me, this is one race on one day. Your donation can help these children take their first steps in the race of life.”
- Chi Edwards, 2008 Team RMHC Runner
