CHICAGO, March 11, 2025 – Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a global non-profit providing essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare, has announced two new Board of Trustees. Barbara Ryan, CEO of RMHC Australia, and Janell Mason, CEO of RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana, began their term as Trustees on February 28, 2025.

Through a global network of over 255 Chapters in 62 countries and regions, RMHC cares for families with children who are ill or injured. Today, RMHC offers more than 1,000 programs around the world that provide essential services to families when their children need healthcare.

“I’m thrilled to announce the appointment of Barbara Ryan and Janell Mason to the Board of Trustees,” said Katie Fitzgerald, President and CEO of RMHC. “Their first-hand experience supporting RMHC Chapters and families will have an unprecedented impact on the Board as we strive to serve more families each year and serve them better.”

For more than 10 years, Ryan has brought her values-driven mindset to RMHC Australia. She has served as the CEO since 2016, leading the organization’s national strategic plan to ensure growth and alignment across RMHC Chapters in Australia. Prior to her current role, Ryan was the National Program Manager for RMHC Australia, overseeing the growth and development of new programs. She has an extensive background in the health and non-for-profit sectors.

Mason has served as the CEO of RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana since 2015. She is responsible for developing the Chapter’s comprehensive, long-term strategy for growth, as well as creating depth in its infrastructure to ensure enrichment of care for families and additional capacity for mission expansion. Prior to her current role, Mason was an avid volunteer and served on several nonprofit boards in central Arkansas, including serving on the RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana board for eight years before becoming CEO.

Ryan and Mason will bring their extensive RMHC background, knowledge and passion to the RMHC Board of Trustees.
