Our Core Programs
We believe when a child is sick, the entire family needs comfort and support and should be fully involved with health care providers about the care and services their child receives.

More than a place to stay
Through these core programs, RMHC and its network of local Chapters provide so much more than shelter for families with children who need to travel for medical care.
- Nutritious meal programs fill a gap experienced by many of our House and Family Room guests
- Education programs offer needed lessons for outpatients and siblings who are missing school
- Services such as peer support, sibling resources, and activities, enhance each family’s experience at many Houses and Family Rooms
- Clinical service providers partner to provide medical and dental care in vulnerable communities
The needs of families dealing with sick children go far beyond medical care. By fulfilling those needs, parents are free to care for and love their child. That is what your donation pays for.

We support millions of children and their families annually worldwide.
Our network is big. Our hearts are bigger. The vital resources and compassionate care we provide give families the ability to spend more time with their sick children, interact with their doctors, and make important decisions about their children’s care. RMHC and its Chapters are committed to working collaboratively with families and local and national children’s healthcare providers to advance family-centered care and support services worldwide.
“Research says, hospital leaders worldwide believe Ronald McDonald House programs reduce parental stress and help families cope.”
(Lantz, et al., Journal of Health Organization and Management, 2015)
We reduce emotional and physical added burdens, so parents can focus on what matters most.
Families with sick children bear a lot of stress— long drives for treatment, additional hotel and meal costs, lost jobs and worried siblings. No matter where in the world they live, no family should have to experience these burdens as additional stress. RMHC programs help alleviate some of those burdens and replace their unbearable stress with welcomed peace of mind.
- Nearly 2.2 Million Overnight stays to families with sick children in 2022
- More than $611 million in out-of-pocket savings on food and lodging for families in 2022
