Chocolate “Sausage” & Mandarin Cake from RMHC Uruguay

MANDARIN CAKE 


Prepare icing and set aside:

water, powdered sugar and orange essence to taste

In the blender mix: 

1 egg 

½ cup of oil

1 cup of sugar

2 mandarins with peel, well washed and cut into pieces.

Meanwhile, in a bowl place: 

1 and ½ cups of flour

1 tablespoon of baking powder


Slowly add the dry ingredients into the mix we made in the blender. 

Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and put it in the oven at 150C  with top and bottom heat, for 45 minutes. Let it cool down and drizzle with the previously prepared.

CHOCOLATE “SAUSAGE” 



Ingredients:

150 grams of butter at room temperature

6 tablespoons of sugar

6 tablespoons of cocoa powder

1 teaspoon of vanilla

200 grams of sweet cookies

Mix the butter with the sugar and vanilla until it forms a cream. Add the sifted cocoa and mix everything until smooth.

Crush the cookies and add them to the previous preparation. Shape the batter into a cylindrical shape with your hands. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 3 hours. Remove and cut into slices.

This recipe is also used to make truffles that we can decorate with chocolate beans or grated coconut.
