After a two-year local impact study revealing that food insecurity for caregivers in the hospital setting is an underrecognized crisis, RMHC Bay Area sought ways to address the crisis. With jobs on hold and lives upended, far too many parents and caregivers struggle to afford or access food during hospital stays that can last weeks or months.

The RMHC Bay Area Feed the Love In-Hospital Meal Program brings the comfort and support of a traditional House-based meal program to a broader audience of families and caregivers directly in the hospital. The program is built around catering partnerships where nutritious hot meals are prepared offsite and delivered to the hospital. RMHC Bay Area staff and volunteers distribute the meals to families - even if dedicated Family Room space within the hospital is not available.

Enabled by research and built on collaboration, the Feed the Love In-hospital Meal Program exemplifies the RMHC vision for a world where every family has what they need to ensure the best outcomes for their children.
